"The past decade", Mr. Stultz said, '"has been one marked by a grattfy~ng company growth and progress." "For example", he stated. " in the past ten years the company has at least doubled i,n several pha ses of growth and service. These include total kilowatt-hours sold to customers in a year; dollars in vested in electric property and eq uipment; and the annual kilowatt hours by our average residential customer.'" Additions to PE electric proper- ty and equipment in the 1980's hit the $77 million mark-this includes generat!,ng stations, lines, build- ings and o~her customer-service facilities. Contributing in good part to this rapid expansion, Mr. Stultz said, were not on~ly valuable indus trial .plants newly located in this area, but also new and more wide spread uses of electricity for space heating,' air conditio,uing, clothes drying and television. "In addlt- ion", he reported, "the percentage of our residential customers using electric ranges has jumped from 30 to 54 per cent in ten years and Vhe change in percentage of those hav,ng electric water heaters has been even more spectacular-from 11 to 36 per cent."
