Resume, cover letter before 1/15/00 to: .r' 23 ,iI LEGAL NOTICE - Testing in order to establish the list from which the = position of deputy sheriff, Jefferson County, West Virginia will be selected. On January 5, 2000 the Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff's Civil Service Commission will conduct a competitive civil service examination for the position of deputy sheriff. The next available opening will be an entry level position as Judicial Complex Bailiff. This test will establish the eligibility list from which vacancies in the law enforcement division of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will be filled. All interested persons must obtain and file an application form with Mr. John Ott, the County Clerk. The application forms may be obtained from Mr. Ott at the Jefferson County Courthouse or the Sheriff's Office at 116 E. Washington St Chades Town. The starting salary will be $20,500/year for someone who has already graduated from the State Police Academy, or $20,000/year for someone who has not. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Pass the civil service examination 2. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent 3. 20-20 vision, corrected if necessary- no color blindness 4. No hearing deficiency 5. 18-45 years old 6. West Virginia Driver's License 7. United States Citizen 8. Weight must be in proportion to height 9. The successful candidate may be required to pass a medical examination, a psychological examination and a physical fitness test prior to employment. The deadline for submitting applications will be December 31. 1999 at 5:00 p.m. in the office of John Ott, Clerk of the County Commission of Jefferson County, West Virginia. The competitive examination will be January 5, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Public Meeting Room at 108 E. Washington St. in Chades Town, West Virginia.
