He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (Fleming) Hyatt, his young children David Wayne Hyatt (Jan 31, 1961 - Feb 2, 1961) and Loft Jean Hyatt (June 14, 1962 - De- cember 31, 1962). Dan is survived by his chil- dren, Tammy Jean Ellmore (of Boyce, VA) and Daniel Wayne Hyatt (of Winchester, VA), Wayne's wife Angela Kay (Holbrook) Hyatt along with two grandchildren David William (9 years) and Kaitlyn Elizabeth (6 years) whom he loved and adored and one sis- ter; Willetta Dinges. Dan and Betty Jean encouraged Tammy and Wayne to pursue their dreams. Dan enjoyed woodwork- ing, camping, traveling, gar- dening, and spoiling his pre- cious grandldds. His life was devoted to family and coun- try as he served in the Armed Forces of the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was a volunteer life-mem- ber of the Leesburg Volun- teer Fire Company 1 during which time he served as Vice President and Treasurer. He was also a member of The American Legion Virginia Post 0141. A funeral was scheduled for Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Fu- neral Home in Leesburg, VA with a reception following at the Leesburg Fire Hall (Co. 1). Pastor Glenn Hughes of Staunton, VA officiated the ceremony. All were welcome to attend and celebrate Dan's life.
