Participating in Leadership Institute Two employees are participating Community and Technical College Leslie See, director of enroll- ment, and Megan Scott, work- force development project co- ordinator, are participating in this two semester leadership development program. The goals of the Chancellor's Lead- ership Institute (CLI) include developing and strengthening leadership skills; enhancing networks across institutions; developing management, orga- nizational and technical skills, while building a pipeline of fu- ture leaders at all levels. The CLI is designed to develop the overall management and lead- ership skills of future leaders, sharing expertise and experi- ence with the participants who are facing current community college leadership challenges. "This training offers a learn- ing experience to our future leaders," stated Dr. Peter Checkovich, president of Blue Ridge CTC. "By acquiring the knowledge of how to communi- cate, how to organize and how to lead, Leslie and Megan will help strengthen our leadership even more." See and Scott are learning skills such as budget and re- source allocation, strategic planning, workforce and eco- nomic development, conflict management, and other tech- niques and information. The first session was held at Ogle- bay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia from October 8 - 10, 2008. The second session will be held at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV from March 25 - 27, 2009. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College offers over 50 associate degree and cer- tificate programs, as well as workforce development train- ing solutions. Auxiliary Book Sale The Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a book sale on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thurs- day, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m November 12 and 13, in the Hospi- tal Conference Room. An excellent selection of books and gift items for adults and children will be offered. A compli- mentary drawing will be held each day. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the hospital auxiliary.
