All other runs will be ten minutes earlier than last term, due to the change in school time. There will not be any bus service for elementary students in the Orchard Hills and Cranes Lane area. These students, by board approval, are now assigned to Ranson Elem. Kindergarten students attending the a.m. class at Ranson will be returned to these areas. AUGUST 10, 1978 17 Cauliflower And Broccoli Rated High Nutrients Broccoli and cauliflower are rich sources of nutrients. But sometimes these fresh vegetables contain bugs or worms. Getting rid of these little hitchhikers is no problem, and you shouldn't let them stand between your family and all the nutrients these vegetables offer. Broccoli is a vegetable of the cauliflower family, nd! cauliflower is of the cabbage potassium. It is relatively low in sodium, and one-half cup only has 20 calories. Cauliflower, especially when eaten raw, is an excellent source of Vitamin C. One-half cup of raw cauliflower contains only about 13 calor!es and one-hali cup cooked contains about 15 calories, reports Judy Matlick, home economics agent with the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Office. Now, how do you get rid of those worms or bugs? Simply soak the broccoli or cauliflower heads in salt water for about 30 minutes. Use about one tablespoon of salt per quart of water. If the pests are present, family. Broccoli not only adds they will rise to the top of the color to a meal but contains water. Rinse the vegetables valuable nutrients.
