HOMEMAKERS HAVE MEETING The Summit Point Extension Homemakers Club met on Thursday at the home of Mrs. White Grantham near Mid- dleway with 17 members and one guest present. The meeting was called to order by the president and was opened with devotions led by Mrs. Grantham. At their conclusion the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved and a report was made by the treasurer. Several items of business were discussed and decided upon and the president called attention to a number of upcoming activities including the area meeting on June 23. Project circulars were distributed which must be completed and returned to the chairman by the August meeting. Following the business meeting a program on The Amish - A Way of Life, was presented by Mrs. Wallace Snyder. She told of many known facts concerning the Amish, their reasons for their way of life, their speech and exhibited several examples of Amish crafts. Following adjournment a social hour was enjoyed and a game based on flowers was won by Mrs. William Hale and refreshments were served by the hostess and co-hostess, Mrs. Stuart Crim. Miss Shirley Macoughtry and Mrs. Margaret Kilmer of Middleway spent Tuesday visiting at King's Dominion near Richmond, Va. Mr. and Mrs. William Hale and children were guests over the weekend at the home of the latter's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Peter McCormick and daughters, in Pittsburgh, Pa. MEETING The Episcopal Churchwomen of the Church of the Holy Spirit met with Mrs. Philip Creamer at Locust Grove on Tuesday with seven members present. The meeting was called to order by the president and was opened with devotions led by Mrs. Harold Hilton. Following these the roll was called, the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved; in the absence of the treasurer, no financial report was made. Several items of business were discussed and plans were made by the group to hold a yard sale on the church lawn on Saturday, July 29. Contributions will be ap- preciated. In lieu of a program for the meeting, Mrs. Creamer reported on the matters resolved at the Diocesan Convention, to which she was a delegate, which was held in Fairmont, W. Ya. in May.
