The book is Doctor Zhivago by tt~z'ls Pasternak (Pantheon 1958). 'l~hls novel was described by TIME as "the book without cSuntry that honors all human- i[Y." It is a Nobel Prize winning novel that will challenge the ma- ture and inquisitive student. A book prize from the college is awarded each year to a mere- !bet of the junior class for excell- ence in English and the social sciences, courses that are basic to aqiberal arts education. -John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J~hn E. It was reported that Wil llam Waggy. state supervisor of commodity distribution, was to meet with the board of public works this week to learn if addit- ional funds were available. Plans will be made to set a day and a place in Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry town.
