SPIRIT OF JEFFERSON Farmer's ADVOCATE 9 THURSDAY, APRIL 27.1978 House's Last of Season erican Dame" II II House an- production of "The by Philip C. Opera House American In the Tommy e. "The was among POpula r plays e Workshop. The ision of the ge of the Old Auditorium an extraordinary !ron the original Perks and Heal out the Alice Sparling Mark Dailey. and Heal and John Anvil". Alice Drunkard" as and Mark the Old Opera "The Diary as Meip and Mr. Dame" is a rather than the actors being assigned charac- ters and acting out a plot, the theme of the play is announced at the beginning and, through acting out several different characters, and dramatizing selected readings, the actors "play-out" the theme to ex- plicity portray it to the audience. The theme "The American Dame" is to portray the role women have played in history from the first woman through women today with an emphasis on the American Woman. "The American Dame" is not a play on behalf of feminists nor does it belittle womanhood. It is a statement of fact as seen through the eyes of many various individuals. "The American Dame" will run May 18 through May 20 with performances at 8:30 p.m. There will be a Sunday Matinee at 2:30 on May 21. Tickets will be $2.50 and $3.50 and are anticipated to sell fast! Reservations should be made early! For tickets and information, call the Old Opera House in Charles Town, 725-4420. Locke s.
