Spirit of JEFFERSON and FARMER'S ADVOCATE Obituaries PAGE Wednesday, April 18, 2012 Robert 'Bob' Parker Dexter Robert 'Bob' Parker Dex- ter, 68, passed away Sunday, April 8, in Hospice of Freder- ick County, Md. He was preceded in death by his father John P. Dexter and is survived by his mother, sis- ter, brother-in-law and neph- ew. He retired from Federal Civ- il Service at the age of 51. One of his favorite interests was a day at the races in Charles Town. Look for a race there to be dedicated to him in the near future. There will be no service and his final resting place will be in California next to his fa- ther. He is survived by his wife Of 56 years, Evelyn M. Hen- sley Hammer, at home; three sons, Roy C. Hammer Jr. and wife Debbie of Aiken, S.C., Michael K. Hammer of Shep- herdstown, Bruce A. Hammer of Kearneysville, one daugh- ter, Dixie L. Hammer of New Hampshire; three grandchil- dren and one great-grandchild; sisters Betty, Evelyn, Anna Lee; brothers, Melvin and Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eggleton Stella J. Eggleton, 82, of Kearneysville, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. Born Jan. 14, 1930 in Fau- quier County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Raymond Payton and Gertrude Carter Payton. She retired after 40 years of nursing at the VA Medi- cal Center and prior at Kings .Daughter's Hospital, Martins- burg. She was a life long member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She was a member of Jolly 15 Club, a member of the West Virginia Nursing Association and a member of AARP. She is survived by her sons, Larry Donald Eggteton and wife Rosa of Martinsburg, Clyde M. Eggleton and wife Jeanette of Charles Town; daughter, Karen A. Eggleton -.of Coatesville, Pa.; six grand- children and eight great-grand- -children. Richard Paul Lyles Richard Paul Lyles, 54, of Harpers Ferry, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his residence. Born August 14, 1957 in Bethesda, Md.. he was the son of Jean Lyles of Harwood, Md. and the late Billy Lyles, He was of the Catholic faith.
