The award recognizes a fiaember of Shepherd's facul- ty "who incorporates diversi- ty and social justice into the classroom, research, scholar- ship and interaction with stu- dents." When Harpers Ferry's his- toric Storer College closed in 1955, many African-Amer- ican students from the area enrolled at Shepherd. Shepherd officials say the 'award "highlights the sig- nificance of Storer College's Commitment to educating students of color in the East- ern Panhandle." 'Celtic Feast' 'scheduled SHEPHERDSTOWN - .Enjoy an Irish dinner of cockaleekie and music from an award-winning bagpiper :at the next Shepherdstown Community Club event. March 11 is the deadline to Sign up for "A Celtic Feast," slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. March 13 at the War Memo- rial Building. Bagpiper Robert Mitchell, who has performed all over the mid-Atlantic in his 30-year career, will perform af- ter the dinner. The cost is $20.
