A production crew from the 60- Minute weekly television show which is aired each Sunday evening from 7 until 8 p.m. came to the Speedway on Saturday, January 21, and filmed a number of scenes from the school which was being held at the Raceway on defensive at- tacks that should be used against terrorist attacks. The raceway was recently rented by the Bill Scott Racing School of McLean, Va., which has translated its experiences in race car driving itno terrorist advoidance maneuvers by car. The purpose of the course is to learn how to avoid and-or escape Cub Scout Pack 39 held their monthly meeting on January 24. There was a Uniform inspection, held by Unit Chairman, D. S. Feltner, Sr., and Unit Leader, James E. Brand, with each Scout receiving a Uniform In- spection Award. They would like to thank Mr. , Jerry Rush of McDonald's, and all the staff for the tour the pack was given in the month of January. It has been decided that the Pack's "Blue and Gold" banquet will be held February 2 at the American Legion. They would like to take this op- portunity to thank Mr. Max Brown and the Spirit of Jef- ferson staff for the publicity they have given the Pack. Tax One of life's little pleasures which mean so much abduction or attacks by terrorist groups. Terrorism is definitely on the increase not only in this country, but around the world and the big corporation heads who are for the most part the victims, have installed burglar alarms in their offices and at home and many have also hired body Imards. But they are still in a most vulnerable position when they travel by car. Thus, this course offered at the Raceway was designed for chauffeurs or businessmen themselves. It is a four-day program covering instructions on evasive maneuvers, high speed driving, and ramming techniques. The school is taught by Scott's racing instructors, who both researched and trained for the tactical teaching. The two most important things that is taught the students at the school, are not to freeze or panic, but instead act with care and secondly, do not play the defensive bait, but go out and attack. The tracks at the Speedway were cleared of the snow on January 21, for the special course and the filming of the cars careening around the track, with tires squealing and a fast driving course. Students in the school are taught bootleg turns and J-turns how to handle high speed driving in both day and night cir- cumstances; they are instructed in the tactics of barricade ramming; ramming another car and cat and mouse maneuvers in The majority of the students in the school come from large corporations. There are four instructors and a full track crew to every eight students. All the: teachers were instructed in special courses prior to in- structing at the school. The CBS shown show will be an in-depth picture of how the American Busins community is dealing with terrorist attacks. More film for the broadcast is still to be show and no show date has been set as yet. was taken? 4. Where may this state- ment be found? A.svtu T9 tiblo Veue 1.
